SFV was established in 1993 with a vision to provide clients with the highest standard of independent property valuation advice in the marketplace.
SFV has adapted to changes in its client profile over the past 21 years, whilst developing its core business of valuing NSW Council and privately owned assets for insurance and accounting purposes. This included the establishment of strategic alliances with specialist plant/contents and fine art valuers in order to offer a complete package of valuations.
SFV is recognised as the Local Government expert within the valuation industry, enabling the Firm to develop direct relationships with Councils/County Councils extraneous to existing insurance valuation contracts/agreements.
Over the past 5 years, SFV has completed insurance valuations on over 40,000 buildings and other structures, with a total value in excess of $20 billion, with a range of values from $2,000 to $248 million. This has enabled the development of a unique construction cost database of numerous building types and structures.
SFV has provided fair value assessment for accounting purposes to over 75 Councils/County Councils.
We provide insurance valuations on a vast array of building type, including heritage listed buildings, major commercial buildings, large industrial concerns, aged care facilities, hotels, significant sporting complexes, churches, education campuses, prestige residences and airports.
We stringently adhere to our Methodology and Quality Assurance Procedures which provides the client with the confidence that it is accurately reporting the value of their assets. In fact, due to these processes, our valuations have never necessitated a qualified audit.
SFV undertakes property portfolio valuations, the preparation of rental assessments, and prepare advice on property acquisition from pre-transaction, through the negotiation process to settlement. We assist in property disposals with the goal of optimising value and recommending the favoured disposal method.
SFV is considered a market leader in the valuation of assets in both the Local and State sectors, and has been appointed as a preferred supplier to numerous Government bodies, also reflecting its in-depth understanding of Accounting Standards, Treasury Policy and stringent quality assurance processes.
We service a broad range of industry type, specialising in the provision of Fair Value (accounting) and Insurance valuations, the former under the relevant Australian Accounting Standards applicable to the organisation.

We understand the legislative requirements in the various States and Territories where an insurance valuation by a registered valuer is required at least every five (5) years.
